Reporting to the Controller, you will be responsible for a variety of functions including payroll processing, benefits reconciliations and allocations, accounts payable processing and other standard accounting functions.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Process full cycle semi-monthly payroll for approximately 120 employees using Paychex software ensuring that employees are paid in accordance with State and Federal laws and regulations 
  • Work with management to define ad hoc and regularly scheduled reports from payroll system
  • Work with managers to resolve timesheet and payroll issues
  • Process manual checks as required
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert in administration / training of all payroll related matters

 Accounts Payable (A/P):

  • Process weekly A/P check run 
  • Enter invoices into A/P Ledger
  • Process payments in A/P Ledger
  • Reconcile credit card expense activity
  • Process employee expense reimbursements

Month-End Close

  • Reconcile bank accounts
  • Reconcile all payroll related G/L accounts
  • Manage prepaid and accrual schedules
  • Manage petty cash

 Act as back up for Billing and Accounts Receivable


BS/BA degree in Accounting required.  Knowledge of, and hands-on experience with, web-based payroll systems; Paychex experience strongly preferred.  Minimum 3 years accounting experience including accounts payable processing, bank account and general ledger reconciliations.

Demonstrated knowledge and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Solid knowledge of California/FLSA wage and overtime laws

Attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate clearly & effectively, verbally and in writing. Project a professional & positive image at all times. Strong customer service orientation. Ability to maturely and calmly manage and prioritize workload and deadlines with minimal supervision.
